More Activision sequels on the way

News by James Frazer, published on Friday 8th February 2008

Activision has been setting out its plans for 2008 after revealing yesterday some impressive profit margins.

First on the list is a new Call of Duty 4 title, looking to take advantage of the success of Modern Warfare and it’s seven million units sold so far. There’s no confirmation on a return to World War 2 or a stay in the present, however we do know that the new installment will come to the Wii and PlayStation 2 as well as PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Guitar Hero will see 3 more additions this year, and the company has promised to try harder to avoid the supply problems that beset the third game in the series, especially here in Europe.

Plus, the Tony Hawks franchise will undergo a major overhaul in the wake of EA’s success with Skate, and we’re also likely to see Activision make use of its Marvel license with new Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and Spiderman titles. Movie tie-ins for the new Jack Black flick Kung-Fu Panda and Madagascar sequel complete the press release.
