Halo 2 Pushed Back

Xbox news by Chris Lamanna, published on Thursday 29th January 2004

Halo 2 could undoubtedly change multiplayer console gaming forever. We also know that release dates lie. Haven’t we learned anything yet?

Halo 2, the follow-up to Bungie’s first killer title was set for a release date of April 1, 2004. Well you would never believe what happened, the game that all Xboxers have been waiting for has been delayed yet again. This time by a whole 2 months. Halo 2 now has a projected release date of June 1, 2004.

“We’re going to ship it when it’s ready,” Bungie says, “That might be the first half of 2004, it might not. You have to be careful with franchises like this.” It may be worth noting that the original Halo was a holiday 2001 release.

However, a slight hint has been given away as to one of the possible campaign levels. Check here. Look at the door in the background. Doesn’t it resemble the type of doors we all remember from The Flood level in the original Halo? Could be a clue, could be an annoying red herring to tease the Halo faithful. We’ll just have to wait and see.
