Guitarist Tom Morello confirmed as boss character in Guitar Hero III

Those looking forward to Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock probably already know that Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash is going to be a boss in the game. Well, recently news got out that Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello will also be appearing as a boss in this third installment of the series.

First rumored by GamePro and a German Activision brochure, this news was confirmed by Morello himself in a Rolling Stones blog post. While confirming his appearance in the game, he also commented on his own Guitar Hero playing:

“Whenever I play Guitar Hero my opponent always kicks my ass on my own riffs,” said Morello. “It’s embarrassing. Now that I’m actually in the game I hope the digital me will win once in a while!”

Guitar Hero III is set to be released late October in the US and Australia (fourth quarter 2007 for Europe), and is said to contain over 70 exciting new songs to rock out to.
