Cooper Lawrence recently issued a statement pointing out the obvious to everyone that’s been involved with the Mass Effect scandal: that she had no idea what she was talking about. Kotaku posted the statement today. That sound that woke you this morning? That was the sound of Ms. Lawrence’s foot being removed with jaws of life from her mouth. Take a look:

“…Ms. Lawrence said that since the controversy over her remarks erupted she had watched someone play the game for about two and a half hours. “I recognize that I misspoke,” she said. “I really regret saying that, and now that I’ve seen the game and seen the sex scenes it’s kind of a joke.

“Before the show I had asked somebody about what they had heard, and they had said it’s like pornography,” she added. “But it’s not like pornography. I’ve seen episodes of ‘Lost’ that are more sexually explicit.”"

While Ms. Lawrence might be able to admit that she doesn’t know anything, Fox News is being a little more stubborn. Perhaps EA should use some of that giant pile of cash they’ve been making off The Sims and hire a team of lawyers to get Fox to correct themselves?
