Picked up a 3DS today. Not sure why but I went to gamestop which I always regret. The employees kept hasseling me to wait for the Vita.. I explained it was to expensive as well as only one game of interest but they still acted like I was making a mistake. Wtf kind retail establishment is this..? Anyways got Mariokart 7, Super Mario 3D Land and Pushmo. All great so far . Nintendo still got it.. screw da haters.
I hate it when I go into PC World to browse the games a shop assistant always approaches me and asks if they can help. So I do my best to avoid them. As I walk down the maze-like isles looking out for assistants and skilfully choosing a route where I won't run into them I always feel like I'm playing a real life version of Pac-Man.
My employer (not PC World) believes that tactic to be "good service." Also they claim it to be a minor theft deterrent.
I'm like that in the Street but when it's Charity Campaigners though. I had that 2 weeks ago when I went into Gamestation. I played a few games on it, and my mate said "So are you going to preorder it?" And I told him that in all honesty I preferred the 3DS. I once went into GAME and not one, but THREE Assistants approached me. Not all at the same time though. One when I first got in there, another as I was approaching the Xbox 360 Section, and another when I got there.
My local Tesco's employ a burly security guard to stand at the store entrance perpetually watching over the car park with his steely gaze. It might just be me being paranoid but I think his job is to prevent people abusing Tesco's 2 hours of free customer parking then walking off into town instead, because that's what I do. He scares the shit out of me, he's basically the 21st century Eye of Sauron.
I know what you mean brother. They make me feel guilty when leaving the store even though I haven't done anything wrong.
Got the Achievement for getting the Silver No.1 Medal in Gears 3. I'm also level 23 so not far off the Acheivement for level 25, but I think I need a break from Gears now.
The carparks are usually run by a third party so security don't really bother with that. When i worked at tescos they security guards were built like shit brick houses but really cool guys. One blokes used to drop security tags into peoples shopping bags to freak them out.
Yeah I had to do this as well when I worked at Staples.. absolutely hated it. Sucks I'd have to follow around some teen punks everywhere when clearly their was some lady needing help elsewhere. Even though I know exactly what they are doing I also play pacman when going to stores like Bestbuy.. avoiding those annoying geeksquad kids like they have the plague.
Really the only time I use physical stores anymore is for getting hardware or the rare game that's unavailable online. Or a classic games store in Seattle where all the people are chill. Otherwise Amazon saves a lot of trouble.
I miss going in stores for game shopping, used to be quite exciting seeing what they had on sale. I liked searching through shelfs and all that, like a kid in a candy store. The nearest shop is about 10 miles away though, and they're very often full retail price, so not much point in bothering anyway.
Very solid game from what I've played, the combat is a particular highlight. I'm only about an hour and a half into the game, but it's already made a good impression. Kinda like a non-Shit, less polished version of Fable 3.
Some particularly cool weapons, just found some Fae Blades, I'm like a walking buzzsaw. Unlocked a Destinies Card which changes Evade into a teleport like maneuver named "Blink". Cool as fuck. I could see my self spending HOURS on it.
Been fine to me. Only things I've noticed were a few springy enemies and lit up cardboard boxes. It''s very solid imo. I did the plane and desert missions today. Very, very exciting set pieces, and in complete contrast from one another. The visuals are just astounding all over, and the animation, too.
Not sure it's possible to dislike this game. Tambourine monkey's great. edit: Maybe I've found a reason to dislike it. Just can't seem to get the timing down on one game.
I just burst into a grin at the end of it. And makes me want to play a monkey game, but Super Monkey Ball 2 is so hard. Once I hand in my essay tomorrow, Final Fantasy X. My reward to myself for working so hard And I'll never reach my goal with Persona 4 after slogging through Sector Gus.
Alan Wake for PC was released today, going to buy for sure. PC Gamer has some shot comparisons.. crazy amount of detailed gained. 360 PC
