Proposed change for this monthly topic...

Hello to you.

I've been thinking, rather than confining this monthly award to reviews only, how about we change the rules so it can apply to all pieces of writing that go up on the site (news excluded)?

For example, Phil's recent piece about review scores was one of the best damn pieces of games writing I've ever read on the internet, yet under the current parameters we can't vote for it as it's not a review. I think it would be better if these nominations each month encompassed all reviews, previews and articles so that credit is not missed where it really should be due.

Maybe it could be a separate vote? I like the monthly best-of review format tbh.

So more like Writer of the Month as opposed to Review of the Month?

But then we do have quarterly votes for the most active member of staff :s

The thing is, I don't really think there's enough articles through the month to have a whole seperate vote (unless we were to amalgamate the two?).

You'd literally only have about six pieces up for nomination each month, at most.


We could have something like a quarterly 'Best Piece of Writing', which incorporates it all?

That would be a lot of stuff to go through for quarterly.

Maybe every-other-month best article or something?
