its not as bad as all u lot say it is, its not better then xbox live but its nearly just as good.
the only bad thing about it is u dont get a friends list. the headset is much better then the xbox 1 aswell.

Yes, I've got it now for reviewing purposes, but don't play on it much.

is it only socom that you can use the voice.

Phil
11-26-2003, 07:12 AM
No, you can use voice in several games. They've also got a buddy list now like Live.

Melt24

I have no desire to play any console online. I have my PC, numerous Half Life and Return to Castle Wolfenstein mods and BF1942.

well ill soon be getting Live with rainbow six, so i dont see any point in getting the ps2 online.

i mean, timesplitters gives me a migraine (as does RTCW), socom is a poorer version of rainbow six (so whats the point) and i had twisted metal black, which i took back the very next day. :(

live for me then!

YAY another ps2 owner has seen the light!

actually i own all of the next gen consoles, and pefer to argue over which games are best rather than indulging in fan boy wars over which console is best.

not to sound too serious, just to make a point :D

anyways, we get BB soon, so ill see you all on live

Wow, no one seemed to like Twisted Metal Black. I didn't like it much at first but after playing it a while I thought it was pretty good.

socom was ok on the ps2 but in relation to rqinbow 6 it dosn't stand a chance. I have no desire to play any console online. I have my PC, numerous Half Life and Return to Castle Wolfenstein mods and BF1942.
you should at least try console gaming. I always played on pc online but the whole process of loading and reloading the game and installation , crashes just wasn't as good as stickinh in a disk finding your mate and playin right away. I mean put IP's and stuff in is ok but it just takes so long.

console and pc online gaming are competely different. I use to play Quake 3 arena , unreal , counter strike, bf1942, and so one but never had as much fun as i did playing games on xbox live. The fact is u dont really get to know people on the pc. U see them chatting now and then and thats about it. I never played with the same person twice. Plus pc gamers are weird. They will do anything to win even if it means cheating lol. On xbox live u actully take the time to get to know someone cause u can talk to them while ur playing. not pausing to type a message and then get shot. This adds to me cause atleast i know the person im shooting is alive lol Most the time on the pc i couldnt tell if it was bot or not  After making such a ring of friends on xbox live i dont think i could ever go back to pc online gaming

No, you have PC gamers completely wrong nagmine. On console or PC, you don't get to know anyone after a game or so anyway. Sure, on a public server, there's no voice chat in most games, so chatting is difficult. But in clans and in organised games, it's far better, where voice chat is set up and you get to know people. I've been playing in an organised campaign in Battlefield 1942 and it is probably the best online experience I've had, including Xbox Live. Sure, Xbox Live is better with its buddy list and integration, but don't underestimate PC gaming as some of the games are simply outstanding.

yeah but phil it is alot more work for not alot more enjoyment to be honest. Playing with friends is all well and good but it just isn't as good as it used to be on pc.

I'm just commetning on the social side of it, not how easy it is to set up or whatever.
