Who is going to get the harddrive to make the playstation 2 compatable for online usage.

By the way, you don't need the HD to make the PS2 online ready. You only need the Network Adapter.

I don't think I'll be gfetting the adapter for my PS2, as I've got XBL, and it's excellent

I will get it too. That provides me with loads of options in the way off both ps2 and xbox games.I also like the idea in socom you can use the headset to command your squad offline. cool.

I'd be interested to get an objective view on what PS2 live is actually like. Not looking for any dumb fan boy comments though.

In case anyone was interested I did have a PS2 but part exchanged it for my xbox after playing halo

this is really a big debate and the only thing that keeps the ps2 alive is the games.e.g pes2 thats the only reason i have kept my ps2.

That's true, the ps2 has very dated hardware, but people buy it for the games.
I think people don't realise how much more of a console xbox is :lol: over ps2 and GC.
My mate hates my xbox, but he doesn't hate xbox live. he can't take it that ps2 online will not be as good as xbox live (ps2 fanboy-bigtime) :lol:

yeah - i too have heard glorious things about Xbox, but for me it comes down simply to the fact that

a) i really really like the PS2 controller (how sad is that!?!?!?!) and
b) you can't play pes2 or GTA:VC on Xbox.

And you can't chip an Xbox if you're planning to go online with it - which is rubbihs.

I tell you what though - £129 ? Even I'M tempted...

im getting ps2 online for 1 reason only. final fantasy XI.
its a shame it don't come out on xbox.

It may be good, but i dont fancy paying 9 dollars a month for it, wen i can play sooo many other games online for free. I doubt i will get it cause i have seen the line up for Xbox games this year and i want most of them, so my money is on them,

There are going to be better RPG's out there. Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance, Star Wars Knight Of The Old Republic, Deus Ex 2 etc etc. save ur money for thme beauties :roll:
