One of my teachers knows a lot about and writes about GPS. Here's what he told me earlier on today:
Basically, GPS never covers the whole of the Earth, there's always gaps and black spots in the coverage. Many of the satellites are now being re-routed to go over Iraq and the first day when there is no moon and full coverage of Iraq is the 28th of this month. Therefore, if we were going to war soon, we would probably attack then.
The reason why GPS is important is because many of the new missiles are GPS guided, not laser guided. I saw a program on TV recently that showed a GPS guided bomb which could tell the difference between different types of rock and stone and could select which storey of a building to hit, as well as how far to go in before exploding. If that's what they're showing us, god knows what else they've got!
