Ive used Kazaa lite and its ok - download speeds can be quite bad though as you dont know how far away your getting the file from.Ive heard Kazaa installs spyware on your PC so just to be safe make sure you get Kazaa lite.And keep your antivirus definitions up to date. :!:

The KaZaA website says, "No application included with your KMD installation, or KMD itself, collects personally identifiable information about users without their consent." which basically says that they don't use it...

I've seen a program you can get which removes spyware, so I might try that.

Are KaZaA and KaZaA Lite on the same system/network?

Right, Kazaa Lite is a modified version off Kazaa so whoever done it, took Kazaa and some programming tools and removed all the spyware and advertisements :D

The whole file sharing part is the same PnP network as standard Kazaa.

i only use winmx. The only problem i have found with it is some people say they have DSL when they don't but that is it.

Yeah, I just started using winmx instead of kazaa. It's excellent for music.

Mate, yes Kazaa Lite is the best, it is free of spyware.

Spyware is basically when a company installs stuff on your computer, records your browser habits etc, all this info is sent from your computer, usually without your consent - quite outrageous I know.

There are 2 main programs, Adaware and Spybot. Personally I prefer Spybot as Adaware crashed my PC, and did on a few other people too. Check the reviews at download.com

Run Spybot and you will be amazed how many companies are secretly getting info off your computer!

Get Kazaa Lite, it is free of adware/spyware. There are even many versions of Kazaa Lite, I recommend getting the K++ version. You can get it from here: www.k-lite.tk

The other thing about Kazaa Lite is that it gives you a maximum rating. Normally you have to share for ages to get this in regular Kazaa - it gives you preference over others in queues for downloading etc.

One word of warning, if you decide to download any executables (*.exe), make sure to virus scan them. Because of the nature of file sharing, viruses spread easily this way. I, myself, have fallen victim to this in the past!
