What's your take on the whole Iraq thing?
I think the inspectors need more time to do their job properly. There doesn't seem to be a proper reason this time around. Anyway, if we go to war, all of our guns will jam and our tanks will break down :?

scale down the war to a game of snakes and ladders, that way its simple, fun and no-one gets hurt.
to be honest, these so called 'inspectors' are just bollocks. did you see them on tv? they aint got a clue! i can just imagine some iraqis running around bout 20 feet in front of them with the weapons trying to hide them!
if they want a war, then fine do it. but dont come knocking on my door demanding me on the front line...
Oh yeah - if the conflict escalates and they have to bring back subscription, you guys'll be right there!
I remember the gulf conflict happened when i was of the age. ****, me and my mates all cacked our pants. luckily, my school grades were **** hot high so i would have got out of it, but i'm from a rough part of leicester and all my mates are alot less qualified, so they were all very worried.
It won't come to that. Saddam is bad but the Bush administration is scarily all powerful - is he like the Emperor from Star Wars or what?
Anyway, nuff politics...

im glad im ooverseas from iraq!!!
Im just playing devils advocate here, but what if Saddam really hasnt got any weapons of mass destruction (unlikely i know), but just think about this scenario for a minute.
The West is convinced he has these weapons and is willing to go to war based on him PROVING he has disarmed and destroyed all of his weapons of MD. Now if Saddam hasnt got any of these weapons he cannot destroy them, cannot prove that he has, because he hasnt the evidence and we (The West) essentially end up going to war because a country HASN'T got weapons of mass destruction.
A world gone mad if you ask me
Scud missile launchers that disappear? The Republican guard buying NBC suits for the hell of it? Iraq developing their missiles to go furthur than they're allowed to, just for Bonfire Night? Empty chemical weapons warheads made by accident?
Sorry, but the evidence seems to point out that they are developing these weapons of mass distruction.
I'm not completely pro war, but I just think all of the people in the "Stop The War" campaign (my friends are some of them) are a bit naive.
The only way of inspecting and disarming Iraq that will work is occupation. 12 years of diplomacy have failed, and it's time we uncover the truth. If they've got nothing to hide, then tell us what happened to all the stuff.
Anyway, if we do go in, then I expect it'll be very quick, maybe only 2 weeks.
</rant> :D
I believe they are developing these weapons too. Very hard to believe that a dictator with his reputation isnt, but dont forget we only have the propoganda that we are fed to go on just as the iraqi people have their own set of propoganda to go on.
Admitedly western journalists appear to have more freedom than Saddam Hussein news daily papers journalists, but couldnt this too be a ruse?

What do you mean? Can you expalin a bit more pls.
First off, understand, I dont believe what I'm writing any more than you do, I'm just pointing out that there are always 2 sides to any conflict
My statement refers to the fact that Western journalists dont appear to subject to political pressure or even have the news written for them as seems to be the casse for Iraqi journalists (if they can be called that)
But what if that apparent freedom is just a show for Western politicians to give the public a feeling of confidence that they are getting the Truth, when in fact Blair/Bush are feeding the public the information it wants, to further its gains in a war against another country.
Again, bear in mind I DO fell that Hussein is inherently EVIL and DOES need to be turned into a distressingly greasy patch on his palace floor.
But that could be what Blair wants me to think
yeah, I sort of agree, but at least they're not like some countries where the state controls most information.
