View Full Version : I've broken my Xbox LIVE headset :(
I was playing Mechassault and right in the middle of the game I had to answer the phone. So when I come back, I pick the headset up quickly and 'snap'
The bit which holds the neckband and the earpiece together has snapped in half. I've just superglued the whole thing back together. I don't know if it will work. :( I'll phone M$ at the weekend to find out about replacements.
Lesson for the day - no game is ever that important and treat the headset with respect at all times.
superglue didn't work :( , but some cable tie things that I found did the trick.
I'll phone up and get a new one. I'm prepared to pay for one, because it was clumsiness on my behalf, not the headset's fault.

I've used a cable tie that you get with kitchen freezer bags and wrapped it around the part where they meet. Note the sexy table cloth as well :P
Neat bodge job Phil

Yeah man, that is what exactly happened to my poor old headset
Well i will give my arldite a good first then i will think of an even better way to fix her up then i will post a picture showing you's my sexy bob the builder table cloth
Cheers for the pic man
King.
:P
I just sat down with some of those ties and pulled it around different ways until it was fixed. It won't work if it's held too tightly together - it'll just snap off :?, so give it some flexability.

Nah man i rang them and they said they dont produce/sell headsets individually. The boy on the phone said to me that i had to buy a whole new starter kit to get a new headset, they are selling on ebay the odd time though..................
He also said that they would sell individually later on in the year but not now

Mine snaped in half yesterday, but i used the good old superglue,
i know its about americans but on www.xbox.com they say
''Xbox Live Communicator – $29.99
Did the dog chew yours up? Want a spare for when friends visit? Whatever your motivation, you'll be able to score the headset for just $29.99. Just about everyone agrees that voice capability is the all-time supreme feature of Xbox Live, and you can keep the online chatter going for less than the price of your Sports Illustrated subscription.
So that's the price tag on Live service next year. We think you'll agree that Xbox Live will continue to offer a whole lot of bang for your buck!''
