Is the ex-Happy Mondayfrontman Shaun Ryder set to lend his vocal talents to the next GTA title?

A gossip column in UK tabloid newspaper The Daily Mirror suggests that Shaun Ryder, frontman with legendary Mancunian scally band the Happy Mondays, is set to provide voice acting for the next in the Grand Theft Auto games.

The story quotes that mates of the singer are saying he’s been signed up to play a character. It’s a rumour that seems a little nuts, seeing as last time we saw Shaun he could barely croak a sentence out. Still, there’s no denying the former Black Grape vocalist would add a touch of authenticity to the game’s criminal side since Shaun has always been a little on the naughty side.

This is amazing news for those video gamers who remember the manchester boom, and if you ain’t then go rent ’24hr Party People’ and catch up.

Call the cops!
