Valve confirms more Portal
Valve bigwig Doug Lombardi has confirmed that they definitely plan on making more Portal games.
Speaking to Eurogamer, he said:
“There’ll be more Portal, for sure. But the details of that, to be honest, we’re still working out.
The only smart thing we did for Portal was to hire those seven kids and give them the support they needed to make the game.”
He also commented on Half-Life 2: Episode Three, saying:
“Gordon is our number one guy. In Episode One I think we left people with some big questions. After Episode Two people saw it was going somewhere.
With Episode Three we want to live up to the promise of where we are taking things to; there’s a lot of work being done to make sure we deliver on that promise.
Exact details on what’s next for Gordon are a way off; probably months not weeks.”
He’ll be back. So will she, hopefully.
The chances of the games falling into another Orange Box are unlikely, unless multiple developments reach their conclusion around the same time again. It will probably be a good twelve months or more before Episode Three is ready for release, but we’ll keep you posted on news as it comes in.
We were rather fond of Portal. Why not have a look at our review.
