The Mini Mega-drive

Just when you thought it was safe to say the word ‘retro’ without people laughing at your hair do.

Out of nowhere, it appears that Sega have decided that they don’t want out of the console market any more, and are set to blaze back in, all guns blazing. And to make matters worse, it’s with a classic mini-console version of their trusty Megadrive.

Okay, so it’s not going to dent the PSP sales too much, but this little box of tricks contains the original versions of Sonic the Hedgehog, Kid Chameleon, Puyo Puyo, Golden Axe, Flicky and King of Monsters, and plugs straight into your TV. What more could you ask for?

It gets worse, though, Tulip Computers have also announced plans to dust off the old C64 in the form of a miniaturised version, complete with 30 games built in. Daly Thompson anyone? My goodness, at this rate Sir Clive Sinclair may make a comeback (no, not with a miniaturised C5…)
