Sony sells a million PS3s in Japan

The PlayStation 3 has finally hit the one million consoles sold mark in Japan, taking eight months to do so. Reuters reports that Nintendo’s Wii achieved the same in a quarter of the time. Meanwhile, the Xbox 360 is yet to hit the 500,000 mark in the land of the rising sun.

Sony recently announced a price drop for the PS3, although gamers in Europe – where the console is the most expensive – will not see any change.
