Pokémon announced for the ‘Cube

It was inevitable that the GameCube would receive some incarnation of a Pokemon title and yet whilst Shelly Friend (Nintendo’s PAL head of PR) has confirmed the existence of a next gen update, the European release date is still to be announced. In the meantime all we can tell you about this game is that a Summer release is rumoured for Japan and that in order to play the GC version, you’ll need a GBA and a copy of Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire. Although you’ll need to buy a GBA it is expected that Pokemon on the GC will retail at a lower than normal price.
