Ninty look to the future

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata made some important announcements about his company’s plans for the immediate future, at a press conference yesterday in Japan. Most significant is the news that “a new Nintendo product” will be formally announced next Spring.

Oooh…

The most obvious conclusion to draw is that this product will be the successor to the GameCube, though there’s also the possibility that, prompted by Sony’s devastatingly powerful PSP, the company could unveil details of a new handheld.

That’d be a kick in the teeth for all those people that bought GBAs then sold them on for SPs. Let’s wait and see…
