Metal Gear Solid 3 a go-go!
Hideo Kojima has indicated that work has already begun on Metal Gear Solid 3.
Speaking to the Shimbon newspaper, the creator of the Metal Gear Solid series announced that his team is working on Metal Gear Solid 3, ending months of speculation that the game was already in development. It’s expected that full-time development work will begin on the third Metal Gear Solid game after work has finished on Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, the extra-laden special edition of the game, to be released on Xbox and PC, as well as PS2. Expect some sort of announcement at E3.
Usually something of a spoilsport, Kojima has neatly sidestepped the issue of a new Solid Snake adventure on a number of occasions. He once said that MGS2 would be Snake’s last adventure. In the past, Hideo has mentioned a passover of involvement in the project, so he may not be completely involved this time around. Rumours suggest the game would carry some online content, and Kojima has even stated he’d love to do a stealth-based game based around a war.
Your guess is as good as ours, but as long as Snake’s adventures stay as good as they have been, we’ll be waiting cash in hand along with the rest of you.
