Mario Kart DS ‘getting down’ with stickers and decals
Nintendo seems to have copied the idea of decals and stickers from EA’s Need For Speed Underground 2 and implemented them in Mario Kart DS.
Hideki Konno, the producer of Mario Kart DS, revealed the detail in a recent interview promising that the touch-screen and stylus will be used to design the decals, which will then be used to personalise the racers.
Gamers can also change the colour of their characters clothing, making those who love to ruthlessly attack with red shells stand out a little bit more for revenge.
He also revealed that 15 of the tracks will be brand new ones while also confirming that the rest will be drawn from such concrete classics as Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart Super Circuit and Mario Kart Double Dash.
Hideki Konno did spread confusion with regard to Battle mode, though, by hinting that his team were considering incorporating new features such as balloon inflation via the built in microphone.
Quite what this means, we really don’t know. But just as soon as we do, so will you.
Mario Kart DS will be released for DS this winter.
