Ghost Rider videogame announced

Majesco have announced that the upcoming Ghost Rider movie (starring Nicolas Cage) is going to be turned into a multi-console game. Coming to the Xbox, PS2, and PSP, the game will have you playing the role as the skull-faced motorcyclist. After making a deal involving his soul, Johnny Blaze is cursed to endlessly ride through the night punishing evil.

“Given its unique mix of motorcycle combat, supernatural themes and popular Marvel characters, Ghost Rider is the perfect property to translate into a video game,” said Jesse Sutton, president of Majesco. “The simultaneous release of our game and the feature film event will ensure that Ghost Rider is next summer’s biggest Super Hero.”

The best news so far regarding the game, aside from the whole “punishing evil while riding a cool motorcycle” aspect is that it’s being penned by Garth Ennis and Jimmy Palmiotti. These are two of the most talented guys in the business. Just check out their work on The Punisher comics if you don’t believe it.

Ghost Rider isn’t coming out until Summer 2006, so we’ll keep you posted on all the details as they develop.
