Bandai do a SEGA

Having achieved moderate success in the land of the rising sun with the Wonderswan, Bandai has now decided to follow SEGAís example and pull out of the hardware market altogether, instead opting for a software-creating role. President Takeo Takasu recently mentioned in newspaper Mainichi Shimbun that Bandai would now be concentrating on its range of popular animation and character licences. However, this could prove to be a good thing for both consumers and Bandai themselves as the release of Nintendoís Red Gundam GameCube pack (complete with giant Gundam robot) has got importers into a frenzy, and the Japanese company promises that all current consoles will benefit from future Bandai products. And yes, that includes the Xbox, providing sales pick up.
