BAFTA Video Games awards results

The winners of the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Video Games Awards winners have been revealed at a ceremony in London earlier this week. Games released in the UK between 6th October 2006 and 31st December 2007 were eligible for nomination, but had to playable for the jury members before 6th September in order to be judged.

Wii Sports was the night’s big winner, picking up seven of the eight awards it was nominated for. Crackdown, Okami and God of War 2 were the other big winners, each walking away with two awards. Bioshock scooped the Best Game award, and Simcity, The Sims and the forthcoming Spore creator Will Wright earned the BAFTA Fellowship award for his influential and hugely successful career in the gaming industry.
