71.8% of Japanese gamers plan on picking up a PS3

CESA (Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association) recently released results of the visitor survey during Tokyo Game Show 2005 (held Sept. 16th-18th) In total, 1084 people were surveyed.

Granted, these numbers are representative of a fairly small group of hardcore Japanese gaming fans, but there are some interesting tidbits regardless. Some of the more interesting points include:

-71.8% said they were getting a PS3
-More people plan on picking up an Xbox 360 (23%) than a Revolution (20.9%)
-Love-Sims (17.4%) are more popular than MMORPGs (16%), Sport games (14.1%) and First-Person Shooters (10.4%)
